Mark World Rainforest Day at Amazónico in DIFC

In collaboration with the charity One Tree Planted, Amazónico will plant a tree in the Amazon rainforest on behalf of every customer that dines throughout the week of June 22 to 29

There are several ways in which we can do our bit for the planet, but the easiest (and perhaps, the tastiest) is to dine at DIFC newcomer Amazónico from the week of June 22 to 29. In collaboration with the charity One Tree Planted, the restaurant will plant a tree in the Amazon rainforest on behalf of every customer that dines at the restaurant during that week. In addition to this initiative, the restaurant is also pledging to donate US$10 to One Tree Planted for every guest that visits on World Rainforest Day on June 22.

Located in Gate Village Pavillon DIFC, Amazónico celebrates the cultural diversity of Latin American with a splendid display of the region’s gastronomic heritage. The dishes found on the menu are not only inspired by the countries of the Amazon but the unique Asian and Mediterranean communities which inhabit them. Expect the likes of Peruvian sushi, the freshest raw seafood, sustainably sourced grilled meats and fish.

Amidst the current pandemic, global deforestation has accelerated rapidly.  Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE) stated that since the outbreak of COVID-19 deforestation has increased by nearly 64 percent in April this year, compared to the same month last year.  Reasons for this include illegal loggers and miners not abiding by the laws and taking advantage of the lockdown measures that are in place, continuing to operate in the area with little to no regulations.

Amazónico is open daily from 12pm to 11pm in accordance with the government’s current health and safety measures in place. Click here to make a booking.
