Discover a fresh approach to Chinese cooking at Maiden Shanghai, a striking and vibrant homegrown concept which made its debut earlier this month at the five-star Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai. Touted to be the next big thing to take Dubai’s culinary scene by storm, the restaurant promises diners a journey of exploration through China with timeless dishes, signature treats and exotic variations of popular recipes.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Luo Bing, who formerly headed the famed Hutong in London. Known for his creative takes on classics, Chef Bing blends four types of Chinese cuisine – Cantonese, Sichuan, Benbang and Jing – using the finest ingredients and expert techniques to create unique renditions of traditional dishes. Highlights on the menu include pickled salmon, kung pao lobster, Peking duck, Chilean sea bass and a delectable dim sum selection.
Spread over three floors, Maiden Shanghai features a vibrant indoor dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Dubai skyline, a stunning rooftop lounge which lends itself to social gatherings and three private dining rooms for those seeking a more intimate culinary experience. The décor draws inspiration from Chinese history through the ages and showcases a carefully curated selection of antique chandeliers, lanterns and accessories.
Maiden Shanghai is open every day for lunch from 12 noon to 3:30 pm and for dinner from 7 pm to 12 midnight.
