Abu Dhabi’s garden oasis of Al Ain will host an auction of the best Emirati dates from October 10 until 17. Eight nights of action will see date farmers coming to show off their best produce, known to be amongst the world’s finest. Hosted by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festival Committee – Abu Dhabi that also organises the annual Liwa Date Festival, the dates being auctioned come fresh from the July harvest with some of the best varieties selling for as low as AED10 per kilogram. Just two and a half hours from the capital centre, it is a cultural experience not to be missed.
