Theatre of Digital Art is now open in Dubai

Souk Madinat Jumeirah venue is the setting for ToDA’s biggest global multi-sensory, immersive art space

Dubai’s art scene has entered a new dimension with the opening of the Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) Dubai, a multi-sensory, multi-media immersive exhibition, located within the spectacular surrounds of Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

Having sparked a city-wide art renaissance in recent months through a series of curated virtual masterclasses with acclaimed UAE-based artists, the team behind ToDA has brought its world-renowned multisensory, multimedia immersive exhibitions to Dubai’s art aficionados with a creative set-up, in line with UAE federal health and safety protocols amid the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

ToDA is the first in the art initiative in the UAE to combine all three formats of digital art including multimedia exhibitions, contemporary immersive installations, and art in virtual reality, resulting in an artistic, educational and entertainment hub. The impressive art space covers 1,800 square metres and will display digital shows that combine high-end technologies with classical art, accompanied by stunning music, visual effects, and surround sound.

The inaugural exhibition showcases nine celebrated artists and portrays the most important art movements of late 19th and early 20th centuries led by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky and more. The exhibition made its Dubai debut following a successful global tour of 11 cities in countries from Germany to Russia, Thailand to Saudi Arabia, which attracted over 1.5 million visitors.
