In recent years, a host of high-profile partnerships have brought together some of the world’s finest watch houses and revered car manufacturers, with the latest big-name pairing seeing Swiss Roger Dubuis join forces with Lamborghini.
The renowned Swiss watchmaker announced the partnership with the luxury car brand on September 20, just a few months after having also teamed up with top Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli.
Roger Dubuis boasts a rich horological legacy and every piece belonging to the brand’s collections is meticulously crafted, in keeping with its Swiss standards. The luxury watchmaker’s tagline ‘Dare to be Rare’ bears testimony to the unique look, precise engineering and excellent craftsmanship of each timepiece. And this philosophy aligns flawlessly with Lamborghini’s ethos of engineering perfection.
To kick off the partnership, Roger Dubuis unveiled two versions of the Excalibur Aventador S, inspired by the engines of the Aventador S and the Huracàn Super Trofeo EVO. The first timepiece – the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S Giallo Orion – will be limited to 88 pieces worldwide featuring yellow accents, similar to the iconic Lamborghini yellow.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S Arancio Argos differs in colour scheme, materials used and availability. A rare edition with only eight pieces available worldwide, the watch has been created with a carbon-sheet moulded compound and features bold orange accents.
The exciting Lamborghini partnership comes after Roger Dubuis’ collaboration with Pirelli. Following the announcement of the pairing, the Swiss watchmaker unveiled the Excalibur Spider Pirelli Double Tourbillon at this year’s edition of SIHH. Limited to just eight pieces, the piece features a sleek blue and black colour palette.
Joining the extravagant timepiece are two new Excalibur Spider Pirelli models in yellow and red, the colours of the Italian tyre maker’s logo. Every piece, part of this stunning collection, features an entirely skeletonised micro-motor, which adds to the visual appeal of the piece, as well as straps constructed from the rubber of the Pirelli tyre.
