Dubai is revered for its incredible nightlife and, fortunately, for music lovers, the live music scene is going from strength to strength. Set up by none other than musician and producer extraordinaire Quincy Jones, the slick venue presents a new resident act every few months. Taking to the stage this season until May 2, 2019, is vocal powerhouse and expert showman David Davis. The Chicago-born soul star takes the lead from singer, dancer and actor Rogelio Douglas Jr, who performed at the venue last year, popular for regularly playing to sold-out crowds at his Los Angeles Vibrato Jazz Club residency.

A name to be reckoned with on the global live music scene, David Davis captured the world’s attention with church performances at a young age and always finding a way to a stage, belting out Motown classics. While enrolled in the renowned Belmont University Music Program, he perfected his piano and performance skills.

Davis says Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathway and Indie Arie have always remained an inspiration and now he is all set to take Dubai by storm with everything he has to offer.

The artist has recorded with legendary producers from RedOne, representing the likes of Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez and One Direction to Aaron Sprinkle with One Republic and Eisley. He also launched his debut album The Long & Short of It, which is now available on all streaming platforms. And with an array of awards to his name, not to mention the other feathers in his cap – from playing at sold-out clubs and festivals as the headliner or an opening act for John Legend and Jon Bellion, jazz fans are in for a treat.

Davis’ songs have also featured on television shows and commercials while his vocals and arrangements have also topped the charts internationally, with his productions being played live at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball and the popular Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.

Talking about the artist, Quincy Jones said: “I can’t wait for you all to witness what makes David Davis a Little Mo’ Betta and experience his electric energy on stage. Dubai, you don’t want to miss this cat because he’s got the moves and the grooves.”
