Malls with it all

Escape the heat and head indoors to explore some of the UAE’s finest shopping spaces offering luxury labels and attractive offers

Yas Mall

Set in the heart of Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Yas Mall packs in plenty of entertainment with incredible retail and dining experiences all under one roof. And with direct access to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, a single visit will never be enough to take it all in. Prepare to shop ‘til you drop from a selection of 400 international brands. Department store Tryano alone houses some 200 brands offering a curated selection of designer wear, shoes, bags and accessories for men, women and children. There are also close to 90 dining outlets to keep you fuelled while you shop.

Mall of the Emirates

Since it opened in 2005, Mall of the Emirates has become one of Dubai’s most beloved shopping destinations. There are around 630 international brands sharing more than 300,000 square metres of space, including more than 80 of the world’s most renowned designers in the mall’s special Fashion Dome and Luxury Wing – think Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, as well as designers available for the first time in the emirate, such as Alice & Olivia, McQ by Alexander McQueen and Halston Heritage. Other highlights including department store Harvey Nichols and the Apple Store, which are the largest of their kind in the world. Much more than just a place to browse, Mall of the Emirates has plenty to keep shoppers entertained. Along with countless dining options, you will also find Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski resort and snow park in the Middle East, plus a 14-screen Vox Cinemas that is home to Theatre by Rhodes, a cinema menu curated by the Michelin star-winning chef Gary Rhodes. There are also two adjoining five-star hotels with their own leisure and dining highlights: Kempinski Mall of the Emirates and Sheraton Mall of the Emirates Hotel, Dubai.

The Dubai Mall

Located in the heart of the ever-stylish Downtown Dubai district, The Dubai Mall is not merely a place to shop but also a tourist destination in its own right. One of the largest malls in the world, it boasts more than 1,200 stores and is home to some of the best retail, dining and entertainment options in the UAE. From the mesmerising Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo to the nearby spectacle of The Dubai Fountain, not to mention the neighbouring record-breaker Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall is a must-visit. Recently, the mall has expanded even further with the opening of the chic Fashion Avenue, a high-end haven of luxury labels including Hermès, Cartier, Gucci and Saint Laurent, as well as long-awaited boutiques from the likes of Monica Vinader and Missoni. It is also home to the largest Rolex boutique in the world, surpassing the record previously set by China, and its three floors are a must-see destination for horology enthusiasts. The stunning boutique, which was inaugurated by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons earlier this year, features all things dedicated to luxury horology spanning 850 square metres, including a screening room, exhibition area and visitors’ lounge.

Marina Mall Abu Dhabi

Thanks to its unique location on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche Breakwater, Marina Mall is also a great spot for photo opportunities with sweeping views of the landscape highlighting the emirate’s skyscrapers in the distance. There’s also plenty of retail therapy with a fantastic selection of stores spread across more than 100,000 square metres of space. Take your pick from more than 400 brands on offer, from high-end to high street and shop to your heart’s content for the season’s best buys. The mall is also home to an exclusive Mercedes-Benz car showroom for auto enthusiasts while a nine-screen Vox Cinemas has plenty to offer movie-goers. You could even try your hand at bowling inside the mall’s very own state-of-the-art alley. With an exciting range of events taking place all year round, suitable for everyone in the family, the trampoline revolution Bounce with 40-metre slides, a zip line experience for adrenaline seekers and an 18-metre free-fall experience, Marina Mall proves it’s not only a destination for shoppers.

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island

For exclusive collections and the best in VIP treatment, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island is our venue of choice. As one of the capital’s most distinguished lifestyle destinations, the mall is home to the world’s leading brands from retail, dining and entertainment spread across 1.8 million square feet of space. In September this year, the destination will be expanding further with the addition of a new wing comprising 300 additional shopping brands, 70 new dining outlets and 250,000 square feet of entertainment. With the new expansion plans, The Galleria on Al Maryah island will become an immersive destination for the entire community and will also feature urban parks and a breathtaking waterfront promenade. If you’re looking to shop for precious jewellery and timepieces, complete with personalised engravings for unique gifts, many boutiques at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island also offer bespoke services to add that element of luxury and exclusivity to your purchase.

The Outlet Village

Located on Jebel Ali Road (perfect for shopping enthusiasts from both Dubai and Abu Dhabi) The Outlet Village is the ultimate destination for those in search of high-end labels at consistently discounted prices. It’s quite unlike any other shopping space in the UAE, with Tuscany-style architecture inspired by San Gimignano, a picturesque medieval town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The elegant, historical design of The Outlet Village is something of a contrast to the wealth of modern designers that you find inside. There are currently more than 125 luxury brands to shop at discounted prices spread across more than 25,000 square metres. These range from big-name luxury labels such as Lanvin, Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna and Michael Kors to more niche designers, such as French favourites Sandro and The Kooples, along with four department stores that include Sephora and Galeries Lafayette. Expansion plans are in place to increase the total square footage and make it one of the biggest luxury shopping destinations in the region.
