In with the new

Downtown Dubai is an iconic place to welcome the New Year. Each year, thousands gather around Burj Khalifa or Palm Jumeirah to watch the fireworks illuminate the city skyline at midnight. This year, the UAE’s northernmost emirate will also compete for the world’s attention as it attempts to reach for two Guinness World Records. Ras Al Khaimah is gearing up for what promises to be a dazzling New Year’s Eve fireworks display with the longest chain of fireworks and the longest straight line of fireworks featuring pyro-drones and Japanese aerial shells. Taking place on Al Marjan Island, December 31 will also see a packed programme of live entertainment with international DJs and musicians set to entertain the crowds from 4pm onwards.
