This DIFC hotspot invites guests to join in the Winter Solstice festivities all throughout December
The Winter Solstice is a major national holiday in China with celebrations dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC–220 AD). Throughout the country, people gather with their family for culinary feasts and visit temples to honour their ancestors. Here in Dubai, Shanghai Me is keeping the tradition alive, inviting friends and family to enjoy pleasant company while tucking into a lavish feast.

The solstice relates to the philosophy of yin and yang, with the return of the sun, and it marks the strengthening of positive energy as we inch closer to summer. It also focuses on cuisine that nourishes the mind and body. In keeping with the spirit of the festival, the à la carte menu highlights classics such as Peking duck with Chinese caviar, grilled silver cod and grilled beef tenderloin.
As dumplings are a staple during the festival, diners can feast on an array of delicious dim sum, including steamed prawn and truffle dumplings, braised wild mushroom dumplings and steamed kimchee wagyu dumplings.

For the ultimate sweet indulgence, guests can enjoy Shanghai Me’s signature giant fortune cookie, with chocolate and matcha mousse filling and hazelnut coating, complete with an edible fortune inside. Shanghai Me is open from 12pm to 11pm daily.
