Artistic perspective

Discover Indian artist Prabhakar Pachpute’s exhibition at Jameel Arts Centre, running until February 8. With a variety of media and materials, including drawings, light, stop-motion animation, sound and sculptural forms, Pachpute portrays the plight of Indian farmers and their fight for land rights and survival. The artist makes use of charcoal in his works – a tribute to his familial roots in coal mining – in order to depict the farmers in performative ways as they protest mass injustice.
