Al fresco shopping & dining at The Beach Mall Dubai

A new wave of exciting retail concepts has come to town in recent years adding an interesting element to the city’s famed shopping scene. Leading the charge is waterfront destination The Beach Mall.

Located just opposite Jumeirah Beach Residences, the concept here, as you would expect from an open air venue, is all about making the most of the stunning coastal setting.

As a result, you’ll find plenty of green spaces along the beachfront walkway which connects the retail and entertainment hub.

There’s an open-air cinema as well as a host of restaurants and cafés, and for those keen to soak up the sunshine, the sands are peppered with loungers, day beds, bean bag chairs and cabanas. A 10-screen cinema, children’s splash park and water park add to the activities available, while a lively programme of events includes a regular farmer’s market and yoga sessions on the beach.

Designed by Benoy architects the team went to great pains to ensure The Beach Mall blended well into its surroundings.

Tree-lined walkways add to the greenery in between low-rise buildings which flow towards the beachfront and create shaded spaces, rather than blocking the sea views.

The shopping offering is as eclectic as the space itself with quirky boutiques nestled alongside big names. Fashion labels Lacoste and Elisabetta Franchi sit next to local and regional concepts such as s*uce-on-sea and Hamac. Making a name for itself as something of a dining hub, The Beach is full of interesting concepts from all over the world. The seafood at Aprons and Hammers is first class, while Seven Sands is one of the city’s few dedicated Emirati restaurants.

Recent addition Pots, Pans & Boards from Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens is also a fave with foodies. Adding a breath of fresh air to the whole area, The Beach is part of a new wave of destinations that present a refreshing alternative for shopping in the city.
