The spotlight turns to luxury this month as Louvre Abu Dhabi presents a showcase of more than 300 objects that have defined the concept of luxury through the centuries. Titled 10,000 Years of Luxury, the exhibits range from the fields of fashion, jewellery, visual art, furniture and design, tracing the evolution of the concept from ancient treasures through to modern haute couture. One of the biggest highlights is the olfactory installation, USO – The Perfumed Cloud, created especially for the exhibition. Representing an “Unidentified Scented Object”, the immersive installation invites visitors to journey through a spiral staircase that leads to a perfumed cloud.
